A Grandmillennial Meet Williamsburg Christmas Look

Let's tour my living room decorated in a joyous Christmas aesthetic that blends Grandmillennial style with Williamsburg tradition using pink and red Christmas decor, magnolia, orange pomanders, and vintage touches.

JOY

I always come back to this word as the root of Christmas. To feel it, receive it, and give it in big ways and small. Whether it's:

The joyous celebration of our Savior's birth who brings hope and love...

The joy we feel at bringing family and friends together...

The joy of happy children eagerly awaiting Santa...

The joyful beauty of decorations that commemorate the triumph of light over dark...

Or the joy of helping others know the peace and meaning of Christmas!

Joy to the world, the Lord is come! As the song goes...

Christmas in my green and white living room with a Grandmillennial meet Williamsburg theme of pink and red, orange pomanders, magnolia, and antiques

My living room decor this year is really a joyous mix of my favorites: Williamsburg della Robbia tradition, Grandmillennial elegance, festive color, and botanical exuberance. I just followed my instincts, using florals, ornaments, and ribbons that bring me joy. Much of the decor, florals, and ribbons are available to shop in the Grandmillennial meet Williamsburg Christmas Collection.

Let's tour the living room...

You may remember last year's Christmas theme in this room was the della Robbia style popularized by Colonial Williamsburg. I used red Jacobean floral ribbon, orange pomanders, sugared fruit, and a lot of rich traditional decor and textures. It was truly gorgeous, but I missed my pink!

I just adore pink Christmas decor! It feels festive and bright to me, echoing the joy of the season. So for my 2023 holiday looks, I knew pink needed to return. I thought about all the decorations I already owned and what ribbon I wanted to re-use. Of course this pink, green, and red gingham from D. Stevens (already sold out for 2023) was top of my list as were the lush faux orange pomanders from the Williamsburg look.

I put these two together mixed in some beautiful magnolia leaves and blooms added a dose of velvet and a dash of gold and VOILA...

Grandmillennial meet Williamsburg was born!

This Christmas aesthetic is a colorful twist on tradition, blending the fruit accents of the della Robbia style with Grandmillennial elegance and Southern chic. The garland on my mantel is one of the styles available from my 2023 Christmas garland kits, and I am so pleased with the way it came together. I chose to mix the pink gingham ribbon (similar style here) with the elegant velvet butterfly vine and thin emerald green ribbons.

On top of my mantel a mixture of antique and vintage jars and urns with coordinated floral arrangements completes the look. In the center compote, I created an arrangement using the white magnolia, eucalyptus, gold laurel, and orange pomanders from the garland. For a pop of pink I added these real touch amaryllis to the center. On either side of the compote sit a pair of Old Paris urns with gorgeous floral designs (available in the shop).

This is certainly a bold look, but I think it is still sophisticated and elegant. The pink and green Christmas decor plays off the color scheme of the room, and the hints of orange and red are subtle yet festive. I don't think many of us still feel glued to a red and green scheme for the holidays anymore, but if you do, I hope my decor inspires you to try something new.

A Grandmillennial Botanical Christmas Tree In Pink & Green

For the Christmas tree, I replicated the look of the garland, using the same white magnolia blooms, orange pomanders, eucalyptus, and gold laurel leaf for the floral picks. Mixing in layered streamers of the pink and green gingham with the velvet butterfly vine and large double ribbon bows with this gold glitter ribbon and this white and gold "joy" ribbon. The tree really started to feel botanical to me with these florals, so I added in large sugar pinecones for more dimension and these lovely oversize poinsettia baubles. Sometimes a theme just develops as you play with your decorations, and I just kept an open mind and went with it.

Finishing the tree are a mix of old and new ornaments...pieces I collect and baubles I purchased specifically for the shop. The delicate gold ornaments are from the Danbury Mint yearly collections. I've been scooping up boxes of these at auction for the past few years, and I adore the artistry and whimsy of each. This year I snagged the 2000 collection because of the beautiful hummingbird ornament, which reminds me of my late grandmother.

In the end, this Grandmillennial botanical Christmas tree is really about the small moments...the details. It's the lush texture of the velvets, the glittering gold, the splashes of pink, the swirling script of joy, and the Christmas nostalgia. You have to get up close to fully appreciate it!

Christmas Decor for the Coffee Table & Sideboard

When styling the coffee table and sideboard for Christmas I try to keep it simple. I use these surfaces for entertaining, and I want the decor to be beautiful but more minimal. This year I used my Fitz & Floyd Gregorian Santa pitcher as a vase (I've got another one available in the shop), added some of this festive joy ribbon to this Rose Canton candlestick, and filled this gravy boat with vintage baubles.

The sideboard displays this fun mix until it's time to bring out the nativity set. You can read about my setup of that in this post. The large Rose Medallion meat platter is still available - what a magnificent Christmas gift it would make for the collector!

Styling the Bar Cart for Christmas

Here on my vintage brass bar cart I went for the glitzy and glam pink Christmas decor! Using glittery bottle brush trees and fun vintage baubles to decorate for Christmas. I pulled these Bohemian style wine goblets out of the shop and this Chelsea House floral champagne bucket to set it up as a wine bar when guests come over.

A gorgeous faux magnolia garland hangs across the top of my vintage floral screen with a curling glitter ribbon streamer and chic end bow. This is the same magnolia that I used in the Christmas garland kits, and it is so life like. There are a couple available in the shop!

I must remember to pick up some sparkling grape juice so I can enjoy this festive bar cart too!

Alright lovely peonies...that finishes the tour of my living room with its Grandmillennial meet Williamsburg Christmas decor! For me it is an absolutely joyous look that helps me and my family feel the joy of Christmas. I hope you enjoyed exploring how I brought this Christmas aesthetic to life and feel inspired to decorate with all the pink and all the botanicals this holiday.
