Rose Canton Candlestick
Unique stately Rose Canton candlestick.
I love the idea of this stately candlestick styled on a brass tray with a collection of other Chinoiserie decor. This is a unique piece that was most likely originally intended to hold a peg lamp for oil burning. It will hold a thick candle as shown. Mid to late 19th C. No mark.
Size: 10.5”H x 5”D base; candle well is 1.5”D.
Rose Canton is a Chinese export porcelain that originated about 1820. It was very popular in the United States and Europe, and is part of the Famille Rose style.
