Welcome to my Easter tablescape friends!

If you are hunting inspiration for your spring parties and holiday gatherings, you are in the right place! This blue and white tablescape with Wedgwood Queen's ware, chocolate bunnies, chintz linens, and spring florals is a Grandmillennial dream and sure to get those creative visions stirring.

For my spring decor this year I felt very inspired by a blue and white palette, using "Wedgwood blue." It is such a soft, romantic hue that felt just right for this season of renewal and hope. You can see how I used this color palette on my Spring mantel in this post.

Easter Table Idea

To bring this blue to my spring table I opted for a Wedgwood classic: Queen's ware dishes in lavender on cream with the embossed grape ivy design. Gorgeous, right?

From there I searched for a blue and white floral linen that would complete the color palette and pair beautifully with the dishes. April Cornell never fails me when I want a beautiful chintz tablecloth with a riot of florals. I love to use a square table topper like this versus a full tablecloth because you can still see my elegant dark wood table and it just feels less fussy.

What is Queen's ware?

Queen's ware (or queensware) dishes, branded such after Josiah Wedgwood sold a set of creamware to Queen Charlotte, is a type of pale earthenware pottery meant to imitate porcelain. By 1768 Wedgwood perfected a whiter more durable creamware and became renowned for its success.

Wedgwood's creamware lent itself to a variety of decorative techniques in the 18th century, including sprigging which is a relief molded design applied to the surface. The grape leaf ivy garland around the lip of the plates is such a design, and referred to as embossed in the maker's marks. This particular pattern did not originate until the 1930s and was discontinued in the 1980s.

Easter Table Decor

I absolutely fell in love with this sweet pair of kissing bunnies, and I just knew they deserved a starring role on my Easter tablescape. I felt the mix of chocolate brown with the soft blue and white was a perfect addition to the table decor.

For the centerpiece, I wanted to create an Easter basket floral display but add in that vintage charm, so when I stumbled on this French style wire basket I was delighted. To create the floral arrangement, I first lined the basket with moss and snuggled a container down in it to hold the floral foam and water. Then I filled the basket with a lush display of tulips, calla lilies, hydrangea, and hyacinths in a blue and white scheme.
