A Traditional Christmas Tablescape in Black Watch Plaid
A blue and green traditional Christmas tablescape with Black Watch plaid linens, Spode Christmas tree china, gingerbread cookies, blue opaline coupes, and an evergreen centerpiece.

It's tiiiiimmmmmeeee! Time to think about your Christmas table! What better way to celebrate than with a traditional Christmas tablescape in Black Watch plaid?
Blue and green for Christmas decor can feel so elegant and festive when paired with the right holiday motifs like classic Spode Christmas tree plates, plaid, and gingerbread. For our table this year I wanted to coordinate with my Gingerbread Forest Christmas theme in the dining room, but give the tablescape a little richer more colorful feel.
I started with this gorgeous Black Watch table runner from Weston Table then layered one of my Gingerbread Forest swags on top bedecked with white and gold velvet and Black Watch plaid ribbons. For the place setting, I stacked these elegant emerald and gold chargers, Mottahedeh blue lace dinner plates, and classic Spode Christmas tree china. Blue opaline coupes give a fun pop of color to each setting.
To further play on the holiday theme I made gingerbread cookies (recipe here) for each guest to take home. I wrapped the cookies in little treat bags and added a hand written recipe card to each.
For our menu, I'm planning:
Crab Cakes - I get pre-made from our local seafood market
Asparagus
&
Roasted Butternut Squash
Now I'm off to get my grocery shopping lists together and head to the store! Merry Christmas!
