The Perfect Denim Jacket

Yep! I found it — the perfect denim jacket!

Earlier this fall when I was shopping my closet for “trending” styles, I realized I had a few holes in my wardrobe — staple pieces that were worn out or just didn’t fit anymore. One of those gaps was a classic denim jacket. Mine was from college and had seen much better days. It was an old school J.Crew one that I loved, but just didn’t fit my figure any longer.

I wanted a replacement that was just as classic and chic, but with a bit more room to wear over sweaters. I love a denim jacket for that wear-with-everything layer that feels casual but still pulled together. They look great paired with cords or thrown over the shoulders with dresses, and you can accessorize them with vintage brooches or scarves!

J.Crew was my first source, but the cut is more cropped and straight, which just doesn’t work for me. Talbots was my next stop, but the wash was a bit too faded and gray-ish. So I decided to look at this new-to-me brand: Quince. And I found it…the perfect jean jacket!

It is a rich blue color with just a hint of fading. The cut is roomy but not sloppy. It hits me just below my hip bones. It has pockets on the inside too, which as a new mom I am all about pockets!

And…this perfect little jean jacket is so soft! It feels like you’ve already washed it 50 times! The material though is a nice weight, and there is a tiny bit of stretch to it.

I really appreciate Quince’s commitment to quality fabrics and craftsmanship. The cotton is organic and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. But guess what! The jacket is only $50!

Quince’s skinny jeans have also found a place in my closet, so I highly recommend checking out their denim catalog if you are in need of some new quality but affordable pieces. No, I will NOT be rocking a cowboy tuxedo anytime soon!

I will pop my collar though! Haha can’t escape my preppy ways.
