My love for setting a beautiful table just cannot be suppressed! I love creating an enchanting setting for guests to enjoy as we gather to celebrate. There is just something so satisfying about playing with patterns, pulling in layers of pretty color on the table top, and mixing vintage dishes with antique tableware. Don’t you think?

Spring is just starting to really make its appearance here in East T.N. and with the recent unexpected snowfall it may be a bit stunted this year, so I’m going to celebrate all its glory inside setting a green and yellow spring tablescape that is perfect for Easter gatherings or other spring celebrations.

Green & Yellow Spring Tablescape Details

This tablescape started with Copeland Spode’s Wicker Dell dishes. I love the sunny pop of yellow primroses on this pattern complemented by the soothing brown scrollwork and verdant greens with a hint of blue. The pattern dates back to 1933 and was discontinued in 1964. The plates are shaped on the Chelsea Wicker form with a fluted and basket weave lip.

But one of the things I love most about this earthenware is it’s versatility. These plates can be dressed up or down, they work for spring or fall, and they can go cottage charm or grandmillennial. See how I used them for a fall table here.

Wicker Dell is very similar to another Spode pattern – Buttercup! In fact the two are almost identical. I have a collection of Buttercup dishes available in the shop.

The Spring Centerpiece

I played up the sunny yellow of the plates with a yellow bell Easter egg tree centerpiece “planted” in a vintage cabbageware tureen. See how I made it in this post.

To either side whimsical pagoda lanterns sit with some happy straw bunnies and adorable gingham carrots.

I love to add whimsy to an Easter table, and there are so many adorable critters to play with for spring from hopping bunnies to fuzzy lambs and cheeping chicks to waddling ducks. Check out this post for more whimsical Easter decor ideas.

Green & Yellow Linens

For the linens I choose an Indian block print placemat in a subdued floral that enhances the green hues and a soft yellow napkin. Bamboo handled flatware adds a bit of woodsy outdoor charm and pretty etched goblets continue the floral theme on this green and yellow spring tablescape.
