This breezy tie waist skirt in pretty pastels is classic summer style!
I wore this tie waist skirt in pretty pastels for a day out sightseeing and shopping in Lahaina while we were on Maui. I love skirts for hot weather temperatures and sunny climes, and this one is classic summer style with its happy pastel palette and light weight fabric. It has subtle gathers in the back to give it a little flounce, which I just love!
You could dress this wrap skirt up or down, depending on the occasion, and with the various colors in the stripes you could pair it with several different colored tops. For a day out strolling around town I paired it with my white sneakers, a v-neck white blouse, and fun blue satchel. With this style skirt, you need to take care and tie the bow tightly and position it off to the side, so the slit hits right, and you definitely need to wear a slip. For jewelry, I added my newly crafted pom pom earrings. That’s right…I made those cuties! I’m sharing the DIY here.
We had a great time exploring Lahaina that day, seeing the banyan tree, visiting the courthouse and museum, and strolling through the unique shops. Situated oceanfront there were plenty of cool breezes to combat the hot sun. Lahaina was once the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom in the early nineteenth century and was also a whaling village during the whaling boom of the mid-1800’s. Tons of historic interest! I highly recommend spending an afternoon there if you are visiting the island.

Hehehe…I just couldn’t resist this sunny yellow scooter! It looked so happy up against this pale blue wall, I just had to hop on. Good thing the owner didn’t stop by! 😉
