My Fall Mantel in Elegant Gold & Burgundy

No orange and no pumpkins to be found!
Y'all know I love bringing a colorful explosion to my mantel decor for the fall and winter seasons, but this year I felt pulled to try something a little more glitzy and a little more opulent. This gold maple leaf garland just spoke to me and checked all those boxes.
It is an elegant flourish of gold hues that glitters so prettily and feels so right for the coming lush autumn palette.
To create this look I strung two of these 6' glitzy maple garlands(opens in new tab) across the front of my mantel. I use little screw in cup hugs on the underside of my mantel shelf to hold the garland up.
Most of these pre-made faux garlands run in one direction, so I always take the top of the garland and hang it in the middle then run it out to the corner. This makes the leaves drape beautifully, running out and down each side of the mantel.
To the gold I added this pretty brown and white gingham ribbon(opens in new tab). It's the same one from last year's whimsical oak leaf and mushroom mantel. Then I layered brown velvet, pink satin(opens in new tab), and burgundy velvet(opens in new tab) ribbons over top.
The brown has a lovely softening affect on the glitzy gold. It adds a lush undertone that feels very autumnal.
The center bow is so simple to create. It is 4 single loop bows layered one on top of the other and secured in the center with wire. Don't try to tie each bow with a center knot instead just lap the ribbon across to make the loops. To carry the colors up on top of the mantel I added similar bows to my preserved boxwood topiary(opens in new tab).
The mantel shelf shows off some of my prized antique collections: my pair of antique Rose Medallion temple jars and this newly acquired Louis XV style gilt ormolu clock made by P. Polti. Is it not exquisitely over the top in the best way?!
To complement my fall mantel decor and enhance the burgundy and pink colors I swapped out my usual pillows for these pretty pink and white gingham pillows(opens in new tab) and these lush burgundy chenille ones(opens in new tab) -- both Amazon finds!
I also found the cutest little needlepoint pillow at TJ Maxx with little pumpkins(opens in new tab) on it!
