At the Breakfast Table with V&B Petite Fleur
Let's breakfast in style! An intimate breakfast table inspiration for leisurely mornings at home using Villeroy & Boch's Petite Fleur dishes and white peonies against a blue and white theme setting.

The coffee machine is purring away and champagne waits on ice. Some weekend mornings call for a slow start with a beautifully laid breakfast table!
It's not too fancy or fussy, but just charming enough to feel special and set the mood for a lovely meal.
Going with my blue and white theme this week, I set the table with casual striped placemats and gorgeous white peonies fresh from my garden in a blue and white Chinese jar (available in the Curio Shop). My navy monogram napkins add that personal touch, and faux bamboo handled flatware contribute to the chic but laid back vibe.
For the dishware, I pulled out my favorite spring and summer line for casual dining -- Petite Fleur from Villeroy & Boch. I just love the sweet posies in soft colors with the curvy rim. I snagged a huge set of Petit Fleur at an estate sale a few years ago, and now I bring it out every spring to decorate the hutch in my family room. This floral china is still available new from a number of shops and can be found on Etsy and eBay secondhand.
From the teacups to the serving platters, the V&B shapes are so elegant and refined but not too fussy. It is also a durable set, and I put it in the dishwasher frequently.
For breakfast that morning I served S. and my favorite Florentine chicken crepes with a side of fruit. I use this recipe for the crepes, and it so great because you can make them ahead and even freeze them! We fixed them for our parents last Christmas and the dish was a huge hit.
