An Easter Table

Easter is the perfect opportunity to bring spring into my house. I couldn’t resist these luscious pink carnations at the grocery store last week, and so I decided to create my Easter tablescape around them. I’m not usually a fan of carnations (I think overuse in prom corsages ruined these lovely little flowers), but pairing these with a blue and white color combo is cheery and evocative of spring without being overly pastel and kitschy.

Believe it or not the only item I purchased to create my Easter table were the flowers. Everything else I pulled from decor/tableware I already owned. I made the blown eggs last year, and just re-used two of my favorites here. Blown eggs are really simple to make, and they last for years as long as you don’t squash them (directions can be found here and here). I painted the eggs instead of dyeing them, so the color would be more vibrant. Blown eggs make great party favors, and you could even use them as place cards — perhaps with the guest’s monogram.
