British/English. Pink and copper lustreware was popular in England in the mid-19th century, and is made by applying a gold solution with metal salts over an white pearlware/earthenware body or dark body (sometimes also seen on bone china and soft paste). It was popular among the middle class as an alternative to copper or silver tableware.
