Description

A fine collection of Oxford Library of Charles Dickens books (21) bound in red leather with blue leather onlays and extensively blocked in gilt, edged in gilt, and with inner gilt dentelles. Only 7500 copies printed for members of the library. Books also feature red moire fabric endpapers and individual gilt vignettes on each book. Pristine condition. Published in conjunction with the Franklin Library, 1982 to 1985.

Numerous illustrations by various contemporary artists Hablot K. Browne (better known as ‘Phiz’), George Cattermole, George Cruikshank and Marcus Stone.
