I’m so enamored with this gorgeous ginger jar I almost kept it for myself. She is a beauty with the deep cobalt dragon undulating amongst the clouds after the flaming pearl. The dragon is extremely important in Chinese symbolism, representing the Emperor when shown from a frontal perspective. But like this it is the symbol of spring and rebirth believed to bring the rain and storms when shown with the pearl. Dragons were associated with the idea of joy. Contemporary Chinese reproduction with double circle on bottom.

Size: 10” D x 9 1/2” H.

*Please note this piece is hand made in Jingdezhen using centuries old ceramics techniques. Each piece is unique with slight variations in color and dimension. Small spots, pocks, and glaze imperfections are part of the beauty of handmade.
