Description

This 10.25″D Celadon plate is a truly stellar example of Chinese Rose Celadon.

Apocryphal reign mark scholars suggest are Tongzhi or Guangxu reign marks although the characters are ill-defined. This seems to have been common practice on Rose Celadon pieces from 1862 – 1920.

Condition note: one butterfly has significant loss to enamels. Hairline crack to rim, no separation.
