Description
These small floral blossoms actually represent a plum tree indigenous to China and were used to symbolize winter. The China Prunus is the national flower and its 5 petals are said to represent the five peoples of China. Westerners likened the blooms to the Hawthorn, which is why you often see these vessels referred to as Hawthorn jars. Circa 1950s Vintage with Kangxi Nian Ahi Apocryphal Mark.
