Inspired by antique English Delftware, Deborah Sears’ tin-glazed ceramics channel 18th century techniques and design. Isis Ceramics show the mark of the painter’s hand rather than the stamp of mass production and are highly collectable even by the Queen of England. Each piece is hand-painted and hand made by skilled artists in the Horton-Cum-Studley pottery near Oxford, England.
This pair of blue and white scalloped plates are from the English Garden collection and show bucolic scenes of follies with ponds in the foreground and a pair of swans majestically sailing along. Isis Ceramics, 1988 – .
