This is a stunning early 19th century Rose Medallion square dish.

The intricate designs of this early Rose Medallion dish make my heart swoon. You can really see the careful painting and attention to detail in the figures, peonies, and birds. The tight scrolling vines and gilt wash in between the reserves is exquisite! Circa 1820 – 1860. No mark.

Size: 9.5”L x 9”W.

Condition note: one slight chip to rim, see photo.

Rose Medallion is a Chinese export porcelain that originated about 1820. It was very popular in the United States and Europe with large dinner services frequently ordered. This pattern is part of the Famille Rose style.
