These Rose Medallion serving dishes are popularly called shrimp plates, but the shape most probably derives from a shell. The colors and detailing on this dish are exquisite. A wonderful addition to your Rose Medallion collection! Circa 1820 – 1860.

Rose Medallion is a Chinese export porcelain that originated about 1820. It was very popular in the United States and Europe with large dinner services frequently ordered. This pattern is part of the Famille Rose style.
