Japanese wireless cloisonné vase in bright green with scrolling floral design around top and silver rim and foot.
The Ando Cloisonné Company (Ando Shipo-yaki) was one of the most prolific creators of the late 19th and early 20th Century. They refined this form of wireless Cloisonné whereby the wires were very carefully removed prior to firing. The effect was a smooth surface uninterrupted by “Cloisons”.
